Software Foundations & TypeScript

Four-week engineering foundation

Start with the mental model and core code habits that make later frameworks, AI tools, and product decisions easier to understand.

  • How web applications work: browser, HTTP, APIs, servers, databases, cloud, and safe development environments
  • Git and GitHub workflow, project structure, debugging, browser tools, technical research, and professional documentation
  • Semantic HTML, modern CSS, responsive design, accessibility, and user-focused interface foundations
  • JavaScript problem solving, asynchronous data, modern modules, TypeScript, runtime validation, and error handling

Full-Stack Product Engineering

Four-week application-systems intensive

Turn a useful idea into a small but real application with a clear interface, server logic, data model, permissions, and tests.

  • Current React and Next.js product patterns: components, forms, state, server and client boundaries, loading, errors, and accessibility
  • Backend and API foundations: request handling, validation, API contracts, route handlers, and clear error responses
  • SQL, PostgreSQL data modeling, managed database workflow, authentication, authorization, and Row Level Security concepts
  • Testing foundations, secrets protection, input validation, dependency awareness, and a practical security review
Category outcome: a secure, data-backed full-stack application with a focused user flow, protected data, tests, deployment, and technical notes.
Category 3 Weeks 9–12

Applied AI, Delivery & Capstone

Four-week applied-production intensive

Build one useful AI-enabled feature, test the product honestly, deploy it responsibly, and show the decisions behind it.

  • Model APIs, structured outputs, tool calling, retrieval and knowledge-system foundations, plus Python/FastAPI extension patterns
  • AI workflow design: choose a real user problem, define a clear task, add guardrails, evaluate outputs, and keep a human in control
  • AI and application safety: permissions, secrets, injection awareness, cost awareness, logging, and approval for higher-risk actions
  • Production foundations: environment management, deployment, automated checks, basic monitoring, code review, demo preparation, and documentation
Final capstone: a deployed AI-assisted product or feature with code repository, tests, a short architecture explanation, safety review, and live demonstration.

Learn current production habits without being locked to old tools.

Before every cohort, the Academy confirms a current stable technology baseline for the program. Students learn durable concepts first, then use approved production-ready tools for the cohort’s projects.

The exact framework, runtime, testing, deployment, and AI-tool versions are issued to enrolled students before the program begins. Emerging tools are clearly identified as emerging; deprecated practices are not taught as the main path.

Code that appears to work is not automatically good engineering. Students are trained to question their assumptions, handle errors, protect information, test important behavior, and document decisions.

AI coding assistants can speed up learning and delivery, but they do not remove the student’s responsibility. Every submitted system must be understood, reviewed, tested, and verified by the person whose name is on it.

Can I apply without previous programming experience?

Will I become a fully qualified software engineer in 12 weeks?

No honest program can promise final mastery in twelve weeks. This intensive gives you a serious foundation, guided project evidence, and a clear path for continued practice and deeper specialization.
